Cruel and Unusual?

We talked yesterday about the 8th Amendment in class, which forbids cruel and unusual punishment for prisoners. That said, do you think that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment? Or should it continue to be the ultimate punishment for people who commit terrible crimes?

Welcome to another school year, and of course, a big welcome to the new crop of AP Gov't students. (alumni still welcome!)

We have a lot of things going on in our country and our world right now... midterm elections coming up, a president with low approval ratings, more people know who Homer Simpson is than Tony Blair, etc. What concerns you? Which issues are you thinking about and bothered by?
