Have you ever found an album or a song that made you stop in your tracks and think the song was written about your life? That happened to me today. The album was Valencia's We All Need A Reason To Believe. Now, I've listened to this album a few times before today, but I never could get into it really. But suddenly, in the moment I heard "When I'm home for the week on a holiday/ Look around, everything as changed/ Life's not the same since you've gone away/ Since you've gone away", I knew this album was going to be important to me.
This song, and the album as a whole, is about learning to believe in who you are and what you stand for. It's about being your own person, and not letting others dictate how you live our life. This kind of album is exactly what I needed in my life right now. I could not have put it on a better moment in time, I don't think.
I am going to do my best to live by the words in this album. I know that there have been things I've done wrong and past events that I'm not happy about, but in the end the only place to go from here is up.
Thank you Valencia, for making me believe again.
