I think this pretty much solidifies McCain as the likely Republican candidate... he's only three or four hundred delegates away from securing the nomination and a frontrunner in the remaining states over Huckabee, who is holding on but pretty much a black horse candidate at this point.
(PS. I was sick today, so I'll make up the homework over the weekend b/c I am new unit packet-less!)
Yes, McCain is now the most likely to be the Republican nomination. But i dont think you can count Huckabee out of the race just yet. There might come some surprises.
I agree. I think now McCain is the head runner for the republican candidates. I think it will be really interesting to see what will happen to the republican candidates and how they will up their campaigns becuase now it is head to head between two candidates. I think they will probably end up spending more money to try to win over the less likely states.
I also think it helps McCain. Also, Romney dropping out allows the focus to shift more to the other two candidates which makes the campaign more interesting. And I think it was stupid for Romney to spend so much of his own money on his campaign when he wasn't the most likely candidate.
